With the Presidential Election past and Emmanuel Macron installed as the new leader of the French Republic, parliamentary elections were scheduled for June 11 and 18. I began taking photos of the Defaced poster for Macron candidate (Arles) various campaign posters plastered on buildings throughout every town. France has more political parties and more women and minorities running for office. After I returned and followed the results of the parliamentary elections, women had gained 43% of seats in parliament. Compare that to 30% in US Congress. While I was in France, Trump made his first European visit as president. He was caught on camera shoving aside a politician from Lichtenstein, and later the clip of President Macron manhandling Trump’s handshake was going viral.
